Find out roughly how much your store gives away each month in discounts you never meant to give, such as stacked codes, promos set too deep, and private codes that got shared.
Tick everything that's true of your current discounts. Each one makes a leak more likely.
Most leaks come from four sources. PromoBeacon catches three of them automatically. The fourth takes a regular manual check.
A product discount, an order discount, and free shipping all land on the same order, often because of a combination setting no one rechecked.
PromoBeacon flags thisA typo like 50% instead of 15%, or a fixed amount entered in the wrong currency. One misconfigured code can drain margin within hours.
PromoBeacon flags thisA discount meant for one collection ends up applying to the whole cart, or to far more units per order than usual.
PromoBeacon flags thisWelcome, staff, or influencer codes end up on coupon sites and in browser extensions, then get used by shoppers who would have paid full price.
Check manually, see belowPromoBeacon learns your store's normal promotions and flags orders with unusually deep discounts, unexpected stacking, or unusual reach. It's read-only and has a free plan.
Discount leakage is money taken off orders that you never meant to discount: codes stacking when they shouldn't, a promotion set deeper or broader than intended, or a private code being used by people it wasn't meant for.
Monthly orders × share of orders using a discount × average order value × average discount gives your total monthly discount spend. The share you estimate as unintended is the leak. Annual figures are the monthly figure × 12.
In Shopify admin, open Discounts to see each code's usage count, and use your sales reports broken down by discount to see how much each code took off. Compare usage with who the code was meant for.
Set usage limits and one-use-per-customer where possible, add end dates, restrict eligibility to specific customers or segments, review which discounts are allowed to combine, and use unique codes instead of one public code for private offers.
